CONSAR raises awareness about replacement rate

Julio Cesar Cervantes, president of CONSAR, stated that the Commission encourages workers to increase the balance of their individual accounts through voluntary savings and to make solidarity contributions, with the aim of boosting contributions to improve returns.
The official stated that significant efforts are underway to raise workers’ awareness of their replacement rate and to help them take advantage of the 2020 pension system reform, which took effect in 2021. A key provision of this reform is that employers will contribute more money to AFORE accounts, allowing workers to save more and secure a better pension.
On another note, Jose Manuel Allende, deputy general director of issuers, information, and markets, revealed that as part of the offerings to investors in Mexico, such as the Afores, the local market features 11 index-linked securities, better known as ETFs, with assets under management totaling more than US$6.694 billion.
The BMV’s indexes and ETFs continue to play a fundamental role as efficient and accessible instruments for portfolio construction, diversification, and risk management, as well as for accessing local and international markets.
