First Aviation & Technology Industry Congress is created

With the aim of creating value chains with SMEs in southern Tamaulipas, the first Aviation and Technology Industry Congress in the state has been proposed to the public and private sectors.

Alfonso Salas Cabrera, founding partner of the Mexican Society of Engineering and Aeronautics, explained that the Ministries of Economy, Communications and Transportation, the Federal Aviation Agency, and the Office of the President are all willing to organize this congress, noting that the resurgence of the state’s aviation industry is already assured.

“Holding a congress here to bring together the entire community of integrator companies would be a crucial step toward growing these industries, which are now aligned with the development hubs,” said Salas Cabrera.

The Mexican Society of Engineering and Aeronautics has proposed Tampico as the venue for the conference, as it was the birthplace of commercial aviation in 1921, a result of the oil boom in the region.

The Mexican Society of Engineering and Aeronautics has submitted the project to the Ministry of Communications, and the Tamaulipas government is expected to receive the proposal in the coming weeks to begin the evaluation and organizational work.
