Metalworking sector will have 20 new environmental centers

During a press conference, the Federal Attorney General’s Office for Environmental Protection (Profepa) and the National Technological Institute of Mexico (TecNM) announced the launch of a 20-strong network of Regional Centers for Environmental Prevention and Quality (CRPCA), designed to deliver training, guidance, and technical assistance to support companies in improving their environmental compliance to reduce risks related to manufacturing operations.

The strategy covers actions in key industrial areas and in watersheds that face significant environmental challenges.

The project involves 20 high-level educational institutions linked to TecNM, situated in regions of significant manufacture and industrial activity. The centres will be focused on providing companies with access to environmental management tools, and strategies aimed at preventing, self-regulating, and constantly improving processes.
