BMW M2 built in Mexico breaks record

Mexican automotive manufacturing expertise is once again in the international spotlight with the BMW M2, produced at the BMW Group plant in San Luis Potosi.
The model set a new record at the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit, becoming the fastest BMW M2 on record to date; equipped with the M Performance Track Kit, it completed the demanding German track.
This new achievement not only represents a milestone for the BMW M division but also confirms the Mexican automotive industry’s ability to produce high-performance vehicles that meet world-class standards.
Key features of the M Performance Track Kit include aerodynamics optimized through wind tunnel testing and a suspension system with racing-derived damping technology.
These modifications enhance handling precision, improve stability at high speeds, and deliver superior dynamic performance under the most demanding conditions.
The BMW Group plant in San Luis Potosi continues to establish itself as one of the most advanced production facilities in Mexico’s automotive industry. Vehicles destined for international markets roll off its assembly lines, backed by high-precision manufacturing processes and a highly specialized workforce.
As the automotive industry moves toward a new generation of mobility, these kinds of results reinforce the strategic role of Mexican manufacturing within the global operations of major automakers, demonstrating that innovation, engineering, and quality also bear the Made in Mexico seal.
