Chihuahua Plans to Invest US$ 289,017 in Water Infrastructure.

The Chihuahua state government, in partnership with JCMAS, has launched a water infrastructure project aimed at benefiting 768 residents in 11 communities across two municipalities in the state.

The Central Water and Sanitation Board (JCAS) is the leading institution responsible for the maintenance and service of the water supply in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico.

As such, it has been tasked with installing 150 rainwater harvesting systems in the municipalities of Guadalupe, Calvo, and Balleza, using a US$289,017 investment provided by the state. The project was developed by the state government itself in collaboration with the Tarahumara Collection Center, A.C. (Captar)

This plan also aims to assist 768 residents living in 11 communities, who are expected to receive support in the form of materials and training.

In the municipality of Guadalupe y Calvo, there are plans to install 94 water collection systems in six localities to assist the 496 residents living there, while in the municipality of Balleza, 56 systems will be installed in five localities, with the aim of benefiting 272 residents of the state.

The JCAS, in coordination with Captar and other civil society organizations such as the Arronte Foundation and Cedai, has allocated US$6,283,580 for the installation of 3,730 water harvesting systems to assist the 15,322 residents whose homes are located in regions that include parts of the Sierra Madre Occidental.
