Mexico has the third-largest helicopter fleet in Latin America.

It has been reported that Mexico has one of the most modern military helicopter fleets in Latin America, ranking as the third largest on the continent. The three main helicopters used by the Mexican Air Force and Navy are the Airbus Helicopters Cougar, the Sikorsky Blackhawk, and the Mi-17. Mexico operates a significant number of military helicopters, such as the Bell 407 GX, the Bell 206, the Bell 412EP, and the MD-530F, as well as the Airbus Helicopters AS565 MBe Panther, optimized for naval operations.

In the coming months, the country expects to expand its military helicopter fleet with the arrival of at least ten additional helicopters for the Mexican Air Force.

Meanwhile, the National Guard will also receive another seven helicopters, according to programs published by the Ministry of National Defense. Admiral Raymundo Pedro Morale Angeles of the Ministry of the Navy highlighted the acquisition of 36 new aircraft for the Mexican Naval Aviation during the ceremony marking the centennial of Naval Aviation.

Both the technology and the number of helicopters are important, as they increase capabilities for all types of missions, such as search and rescue, medical and casualty evacuation, and firefighting. This is how Mexico projects air power alongside its naval rotary-wing fleet, which consists of new models equipped with state-of-the-art systems.
