ANIPAC and IPN aim to foster the future of aspiring engineers

The plastics industry seeks to strengthen its ties with future generations of engineers in light of the need to incorporate circular economy principles into the design, consumption, recovery, and reintroduction of materials into production processes.

To that end, the National Association of Plastics Industries (ANIPAC) and the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN), through the Interdisciplinary Professional Unit for Biotechnology (UPIBI), have held the eleventh edition of their “Plastics in Your Life” fair, aimed at students, which seeks to showcase the applications of plastic and alternatives for making better use of its useful life.

This activity allows students to learn about all the processes related to waste separation, recycling additives, and material processing. For the industry, university participation represents a way to bring in new professional talent for a sector that requires technical expertise to improve the processes of processing, recycling, and material utilization.

The partnership between ANIPAC and the IPN envisions a outreach program in which companies share their processes and technical needs with students who will eventually enter the job market. This initiative positions talent development as one of the most important components for advancing a plastics industry with greater capacity for recovery, reuse, and recycling, while also exposing future professionals to the technical challenges facing the sector.
