COFOCE and INDEX Guanajuato Sign a Collaboration Agreement

The Foreign Trade Promotion Coordinator (COFOCE) and INDEX Guanajuato have renewed their collaboration agreement to strengthen the participation of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in the supply chain of the export manufacturing industry. This integration aims to increase business opportunities for local suppliers through training, regulatory compliance, and partnerships with exporting companies.

The agreement establishes a joint agenda to identify the industry’s supply needs, prepare Guanajuato-based companies to meet those needs, and streamline their integration into global value chains. It also provides for the exchange of strategic information and the development of business capabilities related to foreign trade and the INMEX industry.

Luis Antonio Vargas Zavala, CEO of COFOCE, clarified that one of the objectives is to align the needs of large manufacturing companies with the offerings of suppliers based in Guanajuato.

The strategy aims to prioritize indirect exports, a model that allows MSMEs to participate in international trade by supplying products or services to exporting companies. This mechanism offers local businesses an alternative way to enter new markets without having to engage in direct export operations, while also strengthening the role of regional supply chains.

This collaboration aims to leverage the presence of the export industry in Guanajuato to create opportunities for more local companies, strengthen their competitiveness, and expand their participation in the production chains of Mexico and North America.
