Morelia Seeks French Investment

Morelia, Michoacán, is seeking to strengthen its presence on the country’s industrial landscape by attracting foreign investment and developing commercial ties. In line with this objective, a delegation of 22 representatives from 18 companies and institutions recently visited the Michoacán capital as part of a business mission to explore its production capabilities, infrastructure, and business opportunities.

InvestMx coordinated the business mission alongside the Franco-Mexican Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI France México, Bajío Chapter) and the Michoacán State Government’s Secretariat of Economic Development (SEDECO). Beginning in Querétaro, the delegation brought together business representatives interested in learning about the region’s business environment and establishing connections with local companies.

During the institutional meetings, economic officials from Michoacán and representatives of InvestMx outlined the factors aimed at positioning Morelia as a competitive destination for new industrial projects. These included operating costs compared with other industrial regions, the availability and reliability of electricity for manufacturing operations, and the city’s strategic geographic location.

As part of the technical agenda, participants visited ElevaPark Morelia, identified as the first industrial park of its kind in Michoacán. The tour allowed participants to explore its facilities and learn about the opportunities the park offers for establishing and expanding industrial operations.

A roundtable was also held during the visit, where participants discussed business opportunities in the state and explored potential connections between Mexican and French companies for possible business partnerships and investment projects.

At the conclusion of the mission, participants recognized Morelia’s attractions, capabilities, and infrastructure as assets that could support greater industrial development in the region.

The business mission allowed potential investors to learn about the operational, logistical, and infrastructure conditions in Michoacán’s capital while connecting them with companies already operating in the state. Through these activities, InvestMx and its partner organizations seek to strengthen Michoacán’s profile as a destination for international investment and the creation of high-value jobs.
