Aeroméxico and UVM Launch Aeronautical Engineering Degree

Aeroméxico and Universidad del Valle de México have launched a new degree program in Aeronautical Engineering, aimed at addressing the growing demand for specialized talent in the aviation industry.
The program is based on a dual education model, combining academic training with hands-on experience in real industry environments. Students will receive theoretical instruction while gaining direct exposure to operational settings, including access to aircraft hangars, simulators, and maintenance facilities.
Designed jointly by academic experts and industry professionals, the curriculum focuses on key areas such as aeronautical safety, operations, avionics, structural design, and predictive maintenance. This approach ensures that graduates develop the practical and technical skills required by today’s aviation sector.
The initiative responds to a significant global shortage of qualified personnel. Industry projections indicate that hundreds of thousands of technical specialists will be needed in the coming decades to support the expansion of commercial aviation, positioning Mexico as a strategic hub for aerospace development.
The first cohort is expected to begin classes in September 2026, with enrollment opening in May. The program will also offer industry-recognized certifications, helping students transition more quickly into the workforce.
Through this partnership, both institutions aim to strengthen Mexico’s aerospace talent pipeline while aligning education more closely with real industry needs, fostering a new generation of highly skilled aeronautical engineers.
