Aeronautical complex opens with investment of US$140 million

With an investment of US$140 million, SAFRAN inaugurated its new SAFRAN Aircraft Engine Services Americas Shop 2 facility in Queretaro: a complex dedicated to the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraft engines, thereby strengthening the company’s presence in the state as well as its role within the global MRO services network.

The facility spans 50,000 square meters and includes two maintenance shops for CFM56 and LEAP engines, a test cell, and a component repair shop, integrating highly specialized industrial capabilities for the aviation sector.

In his remarks, SAFRAN CEO Olivier Andries stated that the new center is part of the group’s global strategy to expand its aircraft engine MRO network, supported by investments in other regions such as Morocco and India. He noted that the facility will enable the company to meet the growing global demand for maintenance from airlines, strengthening operational capacity from the Americas.

Accordingly, the complex in Queretaro will service engines for customers in North, Central, and South America, consolidating maintenance activities in a state-of-the-art facility. In the state, the company currently employs more than 4,000 people, reflecting its operational scale within the local industrial ecosystem.
