AmCham Capitulo Noreste sets agenda prior to USMCA review

The Northeast Chapter of the American Chamber of Commerce of Mexico (AmCham) outlined an agenda focused on strengthening regional integration and capitalizing on opportunities ahead of the USMCA review.

During the 53rd Members’ Assembly, it was noted that the main challenge for the business sector is how to consolidate long-term investments in the face of changes in US trade policy and growing global competition.

Beyond the current situation, North American economic integration rests on solid foundations: trade between Mexico and the United States has reached nearly US$900 billion annually, with sustained growth over time.

Currently, Mexico accounts for nearly 15% of total US trade, reflecting the level of interdependence between the two economies. The country has established itself as a strategic partner, positioning itself as one of the leading suppliers of manufactured goods to the United States.

As part of the program, panels were held focusing on economic outlooks and the rules of the USMCA, where challenges and opportunities for the region were analyzed ahead of its review. The Yiacatecutli Award was also presented, a distinction given to members who have made outstanding contributions to the Chamber’s mission and vision.
