ANUIES & Mitacs promote research in aerospace industry

The National Association of Universities and Institutions of Higher Education (ANUIES), the National Technological Institute of Mexico (Tecnm), and Mitacs signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the goal of promoting research, the training of specialized talent, and technology commercialization in the aerospace industry.

As part of the trade mission led by Economy Secretary Marcelo Ebrard, the agreement establishes a solid framework for promoting joint training and the development of highly qualified talent. The partnership aims to facilitate researcher mobility and strengthen ties between academia and industry, with a primary focus on the practical application of discoveries.

The collaboration will be supported by key programs from Mitacs—a Canadian nonprofit research organization that partners with universities, industry, and government to support research and training programs in the broad fields of industrial and social innovation—such as the Globalink Research Award (GRA) for academic mobility and the Accelerate program, designed to foster integrated on-the-job learning through industry-driven collaborations.

These initiatives will help create a two-way network of experts that will generate innovative and commercially viable solutions for the sector.
