Audi Reveals Interior Details of the New Q9

The brand with the four rings has unveiled the new Audi Q9 SUV, a full-size SUV with a spacious interior and luxurious finishes, designed as a sanctuary for family, business, and long trips.
Behind its doors—which are electric for the first time in the brand’s history—Audi’s new flagship model offers up to seven seats, easy access to the third row, and a large panoramic sunroof with adjustable transparency and lighting.
A new Bang & Olufsen 4D premium sound system transforms music into an immersive experience thanks to actuators integrated into the front seats.
“With the Q9, the ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’ (Advancement through Technology) philosophy is increasingly defined by the in-car experience,” said Gernot Döllner, Audi’s CEO, during the vehicle’s unveiling.
He explained that the premium materials, variable seating configuration, and automatic doors “underscore our commitment to quality in our new, spacious full-size SUV.”

Space is the Q9’s defining feature, something that is evident in the seat design.
Up front, the lounge-like ambience of the new Q9 is enhanced by the ventilation and massage functions available in the sport plus seat.
As standard, all seats are partially power-adjustable. To facilitate access to the third row of seats, the outer seat in the second row slides forward electrically and tilts without needing to be folded down.
For the first time in an Audi, all doors can be opened electrically at the touch of a button from inside the vehicle.
The optional Smart Entrance feature allows you to control the opening and closing of the doors via the myAudi app, the MMI, and the remote control.

Inside the vehicle, the driver can also control door locking by pressing the brake pedal or fastening their seatbelt, making opening and closing the doors intuitive and simple.
With an opening angle of up to 90 degrees, getting in is always easy, even with heavy shopping bags or a stroller.
In addition, a comprehensive proximity sensor system with obstacle detection can stop the door if there isn’t enough space for it to open, which is especially useful in tight parking spaces.
This same feature also detects the presence of cyclists or other road users and helps prevent the door from accidentally opening into traffic.

Special Ambience
The Q9’s sunroof measures approximately 1.5 square meters (16 square feet) and can be fully opened to provide a true open-air experience.
An electronically controlled sunshade is also available for those who prefer to block out the sun with the push of a button.
The optional system allows the driver to activate one or more of the nine individually controllable polymer-dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) segments in the laminated safety glass to darken the cabin and provide effective protection against glare.
The standard-equipped laminated glass reflects infrared light and blocks more than 99.5% of UV radiation.
With PDLC technology, a conventional sunshade is no longer necessary. When the car is parked, the roof automatically becomes opaque to prevent the interior from being seen from the outside.

When the car is restarted, the last settings are automatically restored. In addition, the sunroof can also be equipped with lighting: 84 LEDs illuminate the roof in one of 30 available colors, which adapt to the selected ambient lighting.
In every Q9, ambient lighting on the dashboard and doors accentuates the spaciousness of the cabin. Full ambient lighting comes standard on the front doors and is available as an option on the rear doors.
Indirect lighting beneath the Audi MMI panoramic display and in the center console creates a subtle floating effect for the Audi Digital Stage.
The dynamic interaction light (IAL), located at the base of the windshield, is a continuous LED light strip that spans the entire width of the cabin and facilitates interaction between occupants and the vehicle.
Audi optimally combines the interaction light with the updated Bang & Olufsen premium sound system featuring 4D sound.

The IAL uses its “Experiences” feature to sync with the beat of the music, creating an immersive experience by adapting the color palette to the album cover.
The 4D system builds on the previous 3D sound system with speakers in the headrests, allowing for private calls, navigation instructions, and surround sound without acoustic distractions for other passengers.
For the first time, actuators in the front seats add an extra sensory dimension to the experience, turning music into not just something you hear, but something you can physically feel.

Wide and Versatile Range of Options
Audi has carefully selected a particularly harmonious and high-quality range of materials and colors, with a focus on craftsmanship.
For the Q9, the brand is expanding the range of interior options with new fabrics and wood trim. Dinamica microfiber, leather and synthetic leather blends, as well as fine Nappa leather, contribute to the Q9’s elegant character.
The interior is further refined with decorative elements that eschew hard, glossy plastics in favor of inlays and finishes such as fine-grained natural ash, silk beige, natural lime, or carbon fiber with basalt gray accents.
Color-coordinated trim elements throughout the cabin, along with the reduced use of glossy surfaces in favor of matte and textured materials, ensure a premium aesthetic and minimize fingerprints.
New colors such as tamarind brown and stone beige round out the extensive selection, creating a comfortable atmosphere for every taste. The result is an interior that exudes tranquility and sophistication.

Ample Cargo Capacity.
Audi’s flagship full-size SUV offers generous and thoughtfully integrated storage solutions.
The redesigned, versatile center console provides flexibility and modern charging options, featuring two magnetic wireless charging pads compatible with the Qi 2.2 standard and USB-C Power Delivery charging ports delivering up to 100 watts.
The dual wireless charger allows for fast charging of two smartphones simultaneously.
A new aluminum rail system integrated into the sides of the cargo area allows for three-dimensional securing of cargo with sliding hooks and adjustable anchors, leaving the floor free for larger luggage.
A practical extra: Audi includes crossbars for the roof rails as standard on all new Q9s.
