Germany-based manufacturer and services provider Bosch will invest US$ 12 million in a new 10-story, 10,000-square-meter building in Guadalajara to house the 400 employees currently working at the company's operations center in the Ciudad Creativa Digital, located in the same city, Mexican paper El Economista reported.
Gonzalo Simental, Vice President of Finance at Bosch Mexico, said that this investment and move is due to the fact that, in the four years of operations of the company in Guadalajara, considered the Silicon Valley of Mexico, its growth has been greater than expected, since they went from having 14 collaborators in 2014 to 400 by the end of 2017, and they expect this figure to increase to 1,000 employees by 2020.
In this new building, Bosch will join other companies that want to jump in the so-called Revolution 4.0 to carry out research and development tasks in software applications and shared services, said Roger Eleutheri, commercial director of operations at Bosch Mexico.
"In addition to the building's infrastructure, this investment seeks to generate a work environment that boosts creativity, under the best international standards," said Simental.
The innovation center includes a coworking space for Centraal, a company that offers shared work spaces and that already operates this type of facilities in Mexico City. The startup SPLT, which was recently acquired by Bosch, will also occupy space in the new building.
SPLT is an app with which the collaborators of a company can share a commute ride. Ilayali Alcantar, manager of New Business Development, said that this application serves to reduce CO2 emissions, traffic in cities and to strengthen coexistence among employees.
