The German company Robert Bosch has a growing plan for 2017 in its manufacturing sites in Juarez; therefore, the corporation forecasts hiring 500 workers for next year.

Friedrich Dreier (pictured left), technical plant manager for Bosch in Ciudad Juarez, said full automatization in this border city is not an option in the medium term; as a result, the company will need more employees to fulfill its purchase orders.

“The cost of labor is still very competitive in Juarez and machinery is very expensive. Even though we are growing every year and buying new equipment, we still need workers to do some processes and to operate the equipment,” Dreier explained.

The forecast is to have a workforce of 4,500 people by the end of next year.

Ciudad Juarez has the biggest electronic control device manufacturing plant for Bosch in North America.

The company has several manufacturing plants in Juarez. Each plant manufactures different products, most of them related to automotive electronics.

The German company has a catalogue of more than 50 products manufactured in Juarez, some of them include: sensors, distance control units, anti-blocking system devices, electrical power steering control, sunroof motors and window lifters. Officials said new products might be manufactured soon in the Juarez facilities.
