Seems like rumors about General Motors’ relaunch of its Chevrolet Blazer are about to be confirmed as shown by, who posted in recent days spy shots of the formerly SUV now as a crossover while performing tests on public roads near Troy, Michigan.

According to the site, the new Blazer will share its platform with the GMC Acadia and Cadillac XT5 to fit between Chevrolet’s two-row Equinox and the three-row Traverse in size.

The vehicle will likely feature either a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine or a 3.6-liter V6. Both are expected to be mated to GM’s nine-speed automatic transmission also found in the Traverse and Buick Envision.

Previous reports have stated that the Blazer will be built in GM’s Ramos Arizpe assembly plant and at least one supplier in Coahuila has hinted about being involved in the program.

Also, worth noting is the fact that local media in Northern Mexico has reported construction work inside GM’s Ramos Arizpe premises.
