Chihuahua promotes its aerospace industry at FAMEX 2025

The Ministry of Innovation and Economic Development (SIDE) of Chihuahua presented the state's capabilities at the Mexican Aerospace Fair Mexico 2025 (Famex), with the aim of attracting investment and consolidating its position as a strategic destination for the aerospace sector.

During the event, the head of the SIDE, Ulises Fernández Gamboa, pointed out that the development of specialized talent has been one of the main efforts of the state, promoted through the Institute for the Support of Technological Development (Inadet). He pointed out that more than 27 thousand students and professionals have received highly specialized certifications at Cenaltec's campuses, oriented to engineering and design competencies for the aerospace industry.

The state agency also informed that the Promotora para el Desarrollo Económico del Estado (Prodech) offers fiscal and non-fiscal incentives to facilitate the installation and expansion of new projects. In addition, the General Directorate of Industry works to strengthen local supply through training programs, business linkages and business roundtables.

According to official figures, the collaborative strategy between government, academia and the private sector would have allowed to attract more than 130 million dollars in foreign direct investment by the end of 2024. Among the allies mentioned are Index Chihuahua, the Chihuahua Aerospace Cluster, Chihuahua Global, the Center for Research in Advanced Materials (CIMAV), as well as several companies in the sector.

Famex 2025, considered the largest aerospace fair in Latin America, expects to bring together more than 700 companies and 100,000 attendees. The event seeks to promote technological and commercial exchange, as well as the creation of alliances between governments, companies and academic institutions, in an environment that reinforces Chihuahua's position on the global map of advanced manufacturing and innovation.
