Decathlon and DHL supply chain Mexico join forces
MEXICO CITY – In order to double the storage and distribution capacity of its products, Decathlon, the French brand leader in sports retail, joins forces with DHL SUPPLY CHAIN, the world's leading logistics company, in the opening of a new warehouse center to ensure the availability and reach of sporting goods throughout the Americas.
The main objective of the opening of this new warehouse is to improve the quality of delivery services and guarantee the timely supply in each of the 13 stores located in Mexico, where currently more than 6 million products are distributed every year.
The warehouse located in Tepotzotlan, State of Mexico, has an extension of almost 12 thousand square meters, which will meet the needs in the increased demand that Decathlon expects to have in the coming years, anticipating to distribute more than 21 million products by 2026.
"Today is a very special day for all Decathlon Mexico teams, because in these hard times of pandemic and inflation that we are living, we can be here offering a new logistics center that encourages athletes to find all the necessary equipment to practice their sports disciplines in the best way," said Miguel Angel Sanchez Candon, CEO of Decathlon in Mexico.
Sanchez Candon also thanked the collaboration of the government of the State of Mexico and stressed that their support is key to fulfilling the mission of being an ally in the sports practice of Mexicans and stressed the importance of promoting sports and physical activity as a fundamental tool for well-being and health in the locality.
Decathlon is constantly evolving and gaining more relevance in the Mexican sports market, where more and more people are looking for attractive, quality sporting goods at affordable prices.
In the last year, the company reported the sale of around 6 million items nationwide through its physical stores, digital commerce and sales generated through Walmart. Likewise, in recent years it has strengthened its production in Mexico and the distribution of products in Latin American countries, working hand in hand with 5 Mexican suppliers that allow it to guarantee the highest quality standards.
