Federal Government aspires to make Toluca Airport public
MEXICO - The President of the Republic, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, commented that there is a possibility that the Toluca International Airport will be public.
During the morning conference, the Federal Executive commented that he is reaching an agreement with the Government of the State of Mexico to acquire all the shares of this air terminal.
He recalled that this airport is a concession and that the Federal and State Governments hold 51% of the shares, the other 49% are private.
"An agreement is being reached with the Government of the State of Mexico and if there are possibilities, if we have enough time and if we have the resources, the shares will be acquired so that the entire airport will be public," he said.
López Obrador mentioned that the Toluca airport is managed by a company and that it does not generate profits for either the Federal Government or the State of Mexico.
