Mercurio Windsor, a Mexican manufacturer of bicycles, has started the construction of its second plant in San Luis Potosi (SLP), with a US$11 million investment during the next four years. Cesar Ramos Salazar, general director, said that this plant will produce 550,000 bicycles per year, with 85% of them going to the national market and the remainder for North America, Latin America and Europe. Additionally, national components will be included, thus generating benefit for SLP workers. The creation of 1,200 high specialty direct jobs and 2,000 indirect jobs is expected.
