Japanese manufacturer Topre invests US$26 million for its third expansion in Queretaro

Topre Corporation, a Japanese manufacturer of stamping metal components for the automotive industry, recently announced it will invest US$26 million to expand production capacity at its plant located in San Juan del RĂo, QuerĂ©taro.
The expansion comes with 120 new job positions for a total workforce of 700 strong by 2020, said Kazuya Hemmi, Topre president for Mexico, during the press conference.
It will be the third expansion since the company started operations in QuerĂ©taro back in 2013, but according to the same official there’s still a fourth development in the works.Â
As part of the third expansion, the plant will add hot stamping processes in order to complement its product offerings, which until now were only made up of only cold-stamped components.
The company manufactures radiator support parts, front pillars, metal air bags, rear pillars, door beams, center pillars, wheel housings and battery cases. Nissan and Honda are two of its main customers.
