KOTRA: Korean innovation comes to Mexico

The growing technological and commercial relationship between Mexico and South Korea added a new chapter with the 2026 Korea Mobility Trade Mission, an event organized by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) that brought together five South Korean companies specializing in mobility, artificial intelligence, drones, advanced software, and automotive components in Mexico City to explore business opportunities with Mexican companies.
The trade mission includes approximately 40 business meetings between South Korean companies and potential Mexican partners, as well as a strategic visit to the C5 facilities in Mexico City to identify opportunities for cooperation in security, urban monitoring, data analysis, and technology surveillance.
During the event, Hong Ji Kim, deputy director of KOTRA Mexico, explained that the initiative is backed by the Korean government organization TS, dedicated to the development of the transportation and mobility sector, whose objective is to support the internationalization of small and medium-sized technology companies.
Among the participating companies is ASSETTA, a developer of specialized commercial drones for industrial, agricultural, and security applications. The company possesses proprietary technology for the manufacture of VTOL drones, paper drones, and fiber-optic flight systems, in addition to the in-house development of strategic components.
In the automotive sector, JPC Automotive seeks to expand its presence in Mexico. The company manufactures plastic components and interior parts for vehicles, supplying products to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and Tier 1 suppliers in the global automotive industry.
The visit to C5 is part of this initiative and will allow the companies to gain firsthand insight into the technological requirements of the security and monitoring systems implemented in Mexico, a market that continues to expand its investments in digitalization, data analysis, and smart surveillance.
