The Municipality of Queretaro has completed investment projects valued US$1.07 billion for this year, beating the investment amount captured by eight Mexican states in 2015, including Campeche, Tlaxcala, Michoacan, Zacatecas, Chiapas, and Oaxaca, declared the Secretary of the Ministry of Social Development, Urban planning and Environment, Gildardo Gutierrez Mendez. 30% of the total amount went to industrial and corporate projects; 50% went to urban development and building projects; and the rest of the funds went to various undertakings in the services sector. Most of the investment is coming from North America, sometimes from subsidiaries of French, German and Spanish firms. The City Officer assured there are places specifically designed to attract and develop new investment. All of this is going to support the creation of over 12,000 jobs, which stands for 40% of total estimated new job sources in the State this year.
