With an investment of more than US$4 million, the construction of a cargo center at the Queretaro Intercontinental Airport (AIQ) is soon to be carried out, revealed the Secretary of Desarrollo Sustentable (Sedesu) of the entity, Marco Antonio del Prete to local media.

The project, he said, contemplates three hectares that will have space for 250 trailers, 300 light vehicles and a warehouse area.

“The warehouse is being built for those units that have already been cleared by customs, but have to remain stored while the driver arrives. People have already started working on the land and we hope that it will be finished in six months,” said del Prete.

According to del Prete, since the cargo center will serve as a place for vehicles awaiting distribution process, said units will be prevented from being placed on the Carretera 200, which would manifest a risk to road safety of the surrounding area.
