New vehicle sales fall in Querétaro during February

In February, 2,878 vehicles were sold in the state, which represented a decrease of 0.5% compared to the same month of 2024, confirmed the president of the Mexican Association of Automotive Distributors (AMDA) in Queretaro, Laura Rodriguez Miranda.
This slight reduction contrasts with the 6.4% growth experienced by the automotive market during January.
“In the state of Queretaro in February there was a 0.5% decrease in sales, totaling 2,878 units, which means 15 fewer cars compared to the same month, but in the year 2024,” she said.
In the second month of the year, Queretaro was one of the 11 entities that registered annual drops in car sales, in this circumstance are Campeche, Chihuahua, State of Mexico, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Nayarit, Sinaloa, Sonora, Tabasco and Yucatan.
Thus, in the first two months of 2025, 5,872 units were sold, registering an annual increase of 3.4%. The state contributed 2.5% of the Mexican market.
With the growth and accumulated sales from January to February, Querétaro ranked as the eleventh largest new vehicle market among the 32 Mexican states.
Of the vehicles purchased in the first two months of the year, 3,292 (56.1% of sales) are trucks, of which 2,234 are of the multi-purpose segment and 1,058 are trucks, according to the sales report of the agencies that are part of AMDA.
Therefore, 2,580 units (43.9% of sales) are automobiles, of which 1,263 are compact vehicles, 986 are subcompacts, 302 are luxury cars and 29 are sports cars.
The capital of Querétaro registered the majority of sales, accounting for 63.2% of the market with 3,710 units sold.
This was followed by two municipalities in the Metropolitan Zone, Corregidora with 634 sales and El Marqués with 537; in addition, San Juan del Río accounted for 525 purchases, 436 in non-urban municipalities and 30 in Huimilpan.
