Querétaro Prepares for Sales to the Texas Market

Small local businesses are looking for an opportunity to expand sales of their products in Texas, U.S.A. A market full of opportunities for the food and beverage industry.

This initiative will begin operations soon, when between 12 and 15 business leaders set out to visit Texas, according to René Loya Poletti, president of the Querétaro Chamber of Commerce. As part of the tour, the business leaders are also expected to visit the Consulate General of Mexico in Dallas to present their products to potential buyers.

During this mission, the chamber hopes to sign a cooperation agreement on customs matters, thereby enabling its members to access warehousing services free of charge for a limited time, with the aim of streamlining exports. These internationalization strategies seek to prioritize small businesses, family-owned companies, and startups looking to enter new markets.

“On this trade mission, we’re going to introduce buyers from the Texas Triangle—this famous triangle made up of Austin, San Antonio, Houston, and Dallas—to our companies. These four cities have a higher GDP than all of Mexico combined. We’re going to help family-owned businesses sell to one of these major clients in this part of Texas, and it’s as if they were selling to all of Mexico.” The minister has stated.

Among the products from Querétaro, the goal is to bring items such as sauces, tortillas, mole, jams, beers, and craft soft drinks to market. These initiatives would therefore open up new sales channels for local businesses.

It is also important to note that delays in the delivery of goods due to road construction have had a significant impact on the sector. For this reason, it is believed that this initiative would provide support and foster the growth of Querétaro’s local retail sector.
