Schneider Electric Donates US$92,000 in Technology to UANL

Schneider Electric has donated technological equipment worth more than US$92,000 to the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (UANL) with the goal of strengthening the practical training of approximately 2,460 students per semester, exposing them to tools used in the industry.

The donation includes brand-new automation, motor control, and motion control equipment, as well as robotics, which allows students to supplement their knowledge with hands-on experience in technologies related to their professional development.

“Exposing students to the technologies they will use in their professional lives is a concrete way to contribute to their preparation, which is why we are very pleased to collaborate with the UANL by providing equipment and training that help strengthen learning and develop the talent the industry needs,” said Caroline Hoarau, director of Industrial Automation and End-User Services for Mexico and Central America at Schneider Electric.

As part of the initiative, Schneider Electric also plans to provide specialized training for academic staff, with the goal of helping them make the most of the equipment and strengthening the tools teachers use to support their students' education.

“Having this equipment expands our students’ opportunities to put their knowledge into practice and become familiar with technologies used in an industrial setting, while the training provided to our faculty allows us to make better use of these resources in their instruction,” said Arturo Del Ángel Ramírez, M.C., director of the UANL School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
