Tabasco to invest US$210 million in business projects

A private investment of more than US$210 million was announced for the development of three strategic projects in the capital of Tabasco, which will contribute to the urban modernization efforts of the Villahermosa 2030 project, spearheaded by the state government. The projects include eight new mixed-use towers, more than 156,000 square meters of construction, and the creation of over 4,000 jobs during the construction and operational phases, establishing themselves as one of the most significant business ventures in the state in recent years.

During the presentation of the Distrito Empresarial, Samar, and Los Altos projects, Governor Javier May Rodriguez emphasized that collaboration between the state government and the private sector will be key to restoring Tabasco’s economic vitality.

After decades of stagnation and reliance solely on the energy sector, the Villahermosa 2030 project aims to restore the capital’s past regional leadership, while noting that every public investment made by the government is spurring new private investment in the state.

The projects will generate 2,400 direct jobs and 700 indirect jobs during construction, in addition to approximately 1,200 permanent positions once they become operational. Investors noted that the public investment driven by the state government is attracting new local and national capital interested in participating in Villahermosa’s growth.
