Brazil has received US$8.2 billion in investments from Mexicans

MEXICO - Jorge Viana, president of the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brazil), stated that Mexican businessmen have invested more than US$8.2 billion since President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva's third term in office.

“In a year and a half of President Lula's government, Brazil is receiving US$8.2 billion in investment from our Mexican brothers, which is more than Brazil received in 10 years and these figures encourage us to continue believing and moving forward and this is an event of business success,” he said at the Mexico-Brazil Business Forum, organized by Comce, Apex and CNI.

The representative of the official institution responsible for promoting exports and attracting foreign investment to Brazil recalled that the trade flow of Mexico and Brazil was of US$14 billion in 2023.

“In January 2023 after the inauguration of President Luiz Inacio Lula asked us after making a visit to Argentina, that we work more on the business side with a meeting in Latin America,” he recalled.

The agency held business meetings in Colombia, Bolivia, Chile and now came to Mexico.

“This meeting in Mexico brings us joy and hope that things will continue to grow and yesterday I was talking with people from JBS who have 11,300 employees in Mexico and 25% of the chicken is in their hands,” he said.

Mexico and Brazil are the two largest economies in Latin America, added Jorge Viana.
