Puebla and Cd. Victoria airports obtain Carbon Footprint Accreditation from ACI

PUEBLA - Grupo Aeroportuario, Ferroviario, de Servicios Auxiliares y Conexos Olmeca-Maya-Mexica (GAFSACOMM) announced that the Puebla and Ciudad Victoria International Airports obtained Level 1 certification under the Airport Carbon Accreditation program, granted by Airports Council International (ACI).

This program is an international standard that evaluates and certifies the efforts made by airports to measure and reduce their carbon dioxide emissions. Globally, this program is unique in its kind, highlighting carbon management initiatives, implementation of energy efficiency plans and adoption of sustainable practices.

The certification was obtained as a result of Aeropuertos y Servicios Auxiliares' management of several key actions, including the determination of the airports' operational limit, the collection of accurate data and the calculation of annual emissions for the base years 2019 and 2022.

Airports Council International for Latin America and the Caribbean (ACI-LAC) continues to drive the implementation of this certification among its member airports, promoting the sustainability of airport operations. The success of these two Mexican airports reflects the importance of adopting sustainable practices that benefit the environment and improve the health and well-being of local communities.

With these actions to update operational and administrative processes at airports, GAFSACOMM promotes research and implementation of practices to improve its airports.
