Doosung Tech invests in Coahuila
MONCLOVA, COAH - Doosung Tech, a South Korean company that manufactures components for electric cars, announced an initial investment of US$25 million to develop a plant in Monclova, Coahuila.
This will strengthen the electric vehicle supply chain in the northeast region of Mexico.
The factory is expected to start operations in January 2025, where in the first phase, approximately 200 direct jobs will be generated.
Doosung Tech will produce parts and components for electric car batteries and most of them will be destined for the United States (US).
The arrival of Doosung Tech to Monclova has been possible thanks to the collaboration between the City Hall and the Economic Development area, who offered administrative incentives and promoted the competitive advantages of the region.
The strategic location, skilled labor and industrial infrastructure were key factors that influenced the Korean company's decision to establish itself in the city.
According to local authorities, they expect this investment to attract other companies in the automotive and technology sectors.
