Musashi Auto Parts Invests Over US$737 Million in San Luis Potosí

Musashi Auto Parts Mexico has expanded its operations in San Luis Potosí with an investment of more than US$50 million to increase manufacturing capacity and support new hybrid vehicle production programs. The project is expected to create 300 direct jobs.

The expansion includes approximately 8,000 square meters of infrastructure, three production lines, and 63 state-of-the-art machines. These new facilities are expected to boost the Japanese company's automotive component manufacturing capacity and strengthen its operations in the state.

Musashi currently employs more than 650 people in San Luis Potosí. With the addition of 300 positions, its workforce is expected to reach approximately 1,000 employees. The company has operated in the state since 2012, specializing in manufacturing processes for the automotive industry.

Musashi Auto Parts specializes in high-precision forging and machining for transmission and powertrain systems. Its main products include differential gear components, suspension assemblies, steering systems, and engine components.

The expanded facilities are designed to support hybrid vehicle manufacturing programs and meet the technological requirements of these projects. The investment will enable the company to increase production of precision components and meet demand from its automotive programs.

The expansion further strengthens Musashi's industrial presence in San Luis Potosí, where it has operated for more than a decade. The project combines new infrastructure, specialized equipment, and additional personnel to accommodate growing production requirements.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Mario García Valdez, head of the Secretariat of Economic Development (Sedeco), representing Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona. Other attendees included Aoyama Takero, Consul General of Japan in Mexico; Hiroshi Otsuka, President of Musashi Seimitsu Industry Co., Ltd.; Matthew Barron, CEO for the Americas; and Mario Santiesteban López, Managing Director of Musashi Auto Parts Mexico.
