SLP becomes a benchmark for the aerospace industry
SAN LUIS POTOSI - The Secretary of Economic Development (Sedeco) announced that the growth of the aerospace sector in San Luis Potosi has been remarkable due to foreign direct investment in excess of US$130 million.
The head of the agency, Jesus Salvador Gonzalez Martinez, commented that the current administration has registered an investment growth of 127.7% in the aerospace industry.
González Martínez explained that currently, five companies in the sector generate more than 4,100 jobs in the region, manufacturing key components for aircraft, such as electrical systems, thermal insulation panels and high-precision parts.
“San Luis Potosí is ready to become an aerospace benchmark, and we will continue working to make this sector an engine for economic development and specialized employment,” he said.
Thanks to the unique conditions of San Luis Potosí, such as its strategic location, experience in high technology sectors and skilled labor, the companies that operate are Tighitco Latinoamericana, Eaton Truck Components and Aearo Technologies de México, from the United States; Impro Industries México, from China; and Diser Industrial, with Mexican capital.
