Nuevo Leon has established itself as one of the country’s leading destinations for industrial investment, with a portfolio totaling US$46.6 billion. The data was presented during the inaugural meeting of the Investment Promotion Committee, where government officials and private-sector representatives reviewed the progress of projects in the state.

The state has 188 registered initiatives, with an estimated 88,610 jobs created. 66% of the initiatives involve foreign investment, while the remainder is distributed among domestic capital, mixed-capital schemes, and unspecified projects.

Most of the resources are directed toward manufacturing, with US$25.3 billion, followed by transportation with US$13.8 billion, and energy with US$4.2 billion.

The Nuevo Leon Investment Promotion Committee is composed of a diverse council of more than 30 business leaders, representatives from industry chambers and academia, who work in conjunction with the Ministry of Economy to maintain Nuevo Leon’s national leadership in Foreign Direct Investment; it operates as part of the Plan Mexico strategy to boost productive activity and attract capital to the country.
