Mexican companies adopt IoT for workplace safety

According to records from the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), approximately 1,100 workplace accidents are reported daily in Mexico, which amounts to an annual average of nearly 401,500 incidents; this situation has led companies to rethink safety not only as a regulatory obligation but also as an investment linked to business performance.

In this context, the incorporation of technology has changed the way organizations manage risks: connected safety solutions and the use of the Internet of Things (IoT) allow for the real-time monitoring of critical variables, such as environmental conditions or the presence of gases, which facilitates the early identification of risks in industrial plants.

Carlos Martinez, Sales Training Manager for Latin America at MSA Safety, noted that the perception of safety directly influences worker performance, and explained that when staff have adequate protective conditions, they can focus on their tasks and improve their productivity.

The development of ergonomic equipment and specialized technologies has also helped reduce fatigue and errors in operational tasks, which translates into greater efficiency in daily performance.
