“Sembrando Vida” boosts farmers’ income

Between 2022 and 2026, the Mexican government’s social programs channeled more than US$4.065 billion to Guerrero through direct transfers, scholarships, and productive support, notably including “Sembrando Vida,” which focuses on the rural sector.
The funds are distributed among different population groups, including older adults, people with disabilities, and women, as well as young people in job training and rural producers.
“Sembrando Vida” remains one of the programs aimed at the productive sector: the program provides monthly support of approximately US$374 to producers, with the goal of boosting agricultural activities and income generation in rural communities.
Analysts note that, in addition to providing direct income to families, programs such as “Sembrando Vida” generate ripple effects in local economies—particularly in markets, transportation, and services—through their payment cycles, thereby contributing to economic activity in rural areas of Guerrero.
