Mexico adds new wind farms

In Mexico, the ability to integrate clean energy sources and renewable energy into manufacturing and logistics processes is now a key factor in attracting foreign investment and strengthening value chains.
Wind energy has established itself as a cornerstone of the transformation of Mexico’s electricity sector; currently, the country has an installed capacity of 7,413 MW, operated through 71 wind farms located in 15 states, representing 8.26% of the national electricity grid.
Wind energy development in Mexico is not uniform; it is concentrated in strategic regions where atmospheric conditions allow for optimal energy capture. Four states lead national production: Oaxaca, Tamaulipas, Coahuila, and Nuevo Leon.
Strengthening wind infrastructure represents much more than an ecological transition; by integrating clean energy, the industrial sector not only ensures its operational viability in the face of an increasingly demanding global market but also drives technological innovation that impacts the entire national economy.
