Airbus expands in Queretaro & increases aircraft production

The expansion of the Airbus plant in Queretaro represented an investment of US$38 million and the creation of 262 jobs, strengthening its production capacity through the manufacture of aircraft doors and helicopter components, as part of a project that also aims to support the European company’s global growth.

The Secretary of Sustainable Development (SEDESU), Marco Antonio Del Prete Tercero, noted that the investment reaffirms Airbus’s confidence in Queretaro and strengthens a sector that has established itself as one of the state’s main industrial drivers.

As part of the project, Airbus will incorporate new industrial technology, notably an Automated Exterior Skin Riveting Center capable of performing more than two million riveting operations annually, as well as specialized machinery for the preparation of high-precision hinges. Advanced measurement systems will also be implemented for the final validation of products before their integration into the aircraft fuselage.
