New automotive distribution center handles US$147 million

With an investment of US$147 million, Clarios inaugurated its new distribution center in Torreon: a strategic facility that strengthens the supply chain for the automotive industry and the aftermarket in Mexico, as well as in various regions of the southern and western United States.
The complex covers an area of 26,010 square meters and has the capacity to store up to 300,000 batteries, with an operational workflow designed to handle up to 11 million units per year. This facility will supply both original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and the aftermarket, including brands such as LTH, AutoZone, EverStart, and Interstate Batteries, with coverage extending to various regions of Mexico and the United States, including the West Coast.
According to the company, the center incorporates high-efficiency automation systems aimed at optimizing internal logistics and reducing operational times. These include robots for loading and unloading processes, specialized cranes for moving batteries within the warehouse, and a battery-stacking system that improves the efficiency of the facility’s operational workflow.
With this opening, Clarios expands its presence in Mexico to five manufacturing plants, two distribution centers, and two recycling plants, consolidating its operational network to meet the growing demand from the automotive sector and the aftermarket.
