Scania invests in Tijuana to relocate its plant

Scania announced the relocation of its Tijuana branch, with an investment of US$782,000, aimed at increasing its service capacity for customers in the Pacific region.
The new facilities cover an area of 4,900 square meters and represent a significant increase in the brand’s operational capacity. The branch has expanded from three to eleven service bays, which will allow it to service up to 15 vehicles per day, including three bays dedicated to the repair of major components.
The company emphasized that this expansion responds to the growth of Scania’s operations in the Pacific region, where more than 1,700 of the brand’s vehicles are currently in service; due to its strategic location and logistics activity, this area represents one of the country’s main corridors for freight and passenger transport, making the strengthening of service infrastructure part of the strategy to improve response times and vehicle availability.
The company’s goal is to reach 140,000 square meters of new or remodeled facilities by 2027, while by 2026 it plans to increase the number of available service bays nationwide by 14.4 percent, in response to the growing demand for specialized technical support and greater operational availability.
With this relocation, Scania continues to expand its presence in the country through investments focused on infrastructure, technology, and specialized talent, with the aim of strengthening its service network and meeting the current and future needs of Mexico’s motor transport sector.
