Mexico’s Aerospace Industry Grows to US$8.8 Million

The value of Mexico’s aerospace industry is estimated at approximately US$ 8.8 million, but the Mexican Space Program 2026-2030 has calculated a range of US$22,7 million in 2029, the double of its actual digit, according to the Prodensa analysis.

This opportunity appears amid the rise of the global aerospace industry, driven by growth in defense spending in Europe and other regions, as well as the strong lawsuit in commercial aviation. Mexico enters with an expanding base of suppliers in expansion, specialized staff, and great integration with the United States.

However, the capital inflow has lost impulse, accordingly to the data by the Ministry of Economy, the foreign direct investment on the aerospace manufacturing, has felt to a 49.6% in 2025, going from the US$340.7 million in 2024 to US$171.8 million, meanwhile the countries face off with a great intensity in the attraction of new projects.

Mexico’s aerospace industry has maintained steady growth over the past two decades. Despite this, the Mexican Federation for the Aerospace Industry (FEMIA) anticipated a moderation this year, estimating sector growth of 7%, amid uncertainty over the USMCA review and the tariffs that could affect materials.

FEMIA says the industry needs high certainty regarding the import and export process, in addition to the tariff elimination for metallic and aluminum materials. To the Federation, any change can affect one of the three commercial partners and have repercussions for the others, due to the integration of supply chains.
