MG Motor Mexico Expands Its Lineup of Electric and Hybrid Vehicles

As part of International Electric Vehicle Day, MG Motor showcased the main components of its electrified mobility lineup in Mexico, which consists of 100% electric vehicles and a range of models featuring Hybrid+ technology.

The brand’s strategy includes three fully electric models: the MG4, IM, LS7, and Cyberster. According to information provided by the company, the MG4 Electric has a range of up to 520 km under the WLTP cycle in its Extended Range version.

In its lineup of high-end electric vehicles, the IM LS7 features an intelligent air suspension system and delivers 571 HP, with a range of up to 611 km. Meanwhile, the Cyberster, a high-performance convertible, delivers 536 HP from its electric powertrain.

In addition to electric vehicles, MG Motor offers a hybrid lineup based on its Hybrid+ technology, designed primarily for family and urban use. This architecture features the Duo Drive system, which integrates a 135 kW electric torque generator and four independent electric gears, coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission.

The system features an intelligent gear control unit and achieves a transmission efficiency of 96.44%. The technology aims to combine the immediate response of electric propulsion with the range associated with an internal combustion engine.

The Hybrid+ family includes the MG3 Hybrid+, the ZS Hybrid+, and the HS line, available in HEV and PHEV configurations. The HS lineup features an HEV version with a combined fuel economy of 22.3 km per liter and CO₂ emissions of 107.2 g per kilometer. It also boasts a five-star Euro NCAP rating and the MG Pilot driver-assistance system.

Fernando Concheso, Sales Director at MG Motor Mexico, emphasized that the company’s strategy aims to combine its electric lineup with hybrid technology as part of its sustainable mobility initiative.

With this lineup, MG Motor is pursuing an electrification strategy that encompasses various powertrain configurations, ranging from fully electric vehicles to conventional and plug-in hybrid systems.
