SEDESU and Tec Join Forces on Clusters
The Secretariat of Sustainable Development (SEDESU), the Tecnológico de Monterrey Querétaro Campus, and the State Cluster Network signed a memorandum of agreement to promote the development of the state’s key economic sectors.
Marco Antonio Del Prete Tercero, head of SEDESU, noted that Querétaro’s economic growth depends not only on attracting new investments but also on fostering collaborative relationships among its various economic stakeholders.
The agreement aims to integrate the National Cluster Network ecosystem into Tec de Monterrey, bringing together businesses, academia, and industry organizations to facilitate joint initiatives that address industry needs.
The network currently comprises nine clusters representing Querétaro’s key economic sectors: automotive, aerospace, logistics, plastics, energy, healthcare, wine production, creative industries, and information technology.
According to Del Prete Tercero, the goal is to turn each sector’s capabilities into opportunities for others by sharing experiences, identifying common challenges, and developing projects that leverage the strengths of the state’s productive ecosystems.
Jatziri Barrios Porras, president of Aeroclúster and representative of the State Cluster Network, highlighted the challenges companies face as they continuously adapt to maintain their competitiveness and develop technologies that deliver practical solutions.
Meanwhile, Pascual Alcocer, general director of Tecnológico de Monterrey’s Querétaro Campus, underscored the crucial role clusters play in the state’s economy by fostering new forms of collaboration among their members and helping them remain competitive.
Integrating the cluster network into the university ecosystem will bring the institution closer to the challenges companies face and the skills they need to develop. It will also create more opportunities to connect businesses, students, and entrepreneurs.
Through this initiative, Querétaro seeks to strengthen collaboration between its economic sectors and academia, promoting innovation and the development of joint projects.
