Kasai Kogyo to Consolidate Mexican Operations
Kasai Kogyo has announced a reorganization of its Mexican subsidiary, KASAI MEXICANA (KMEX), involving the gradual transfer of production activities from Plant 3 to Plants 1 and 2, with the aim of increasing production efficiency and improving the group's profitability.
The decision was approved by the Japanese company's Board of Directors in October 2026 as part of its efforts to strengthen operational performance. Accordingly, the transfer process is scheduled to begin in November 2026, with completion expected by March 2028.
Currently, KMEX operates three manufacturing plants in Mexico, specializing in automotive interior components. Under the restructuring plan, production activities currently carried out at Plant 3 will be gradually transferred to the other two facilities. Once the process is complete, Plant 3 will cease manufacturing operations.
The company also announced that it plans to retain the jobs of employees currently working in production operations at Plant 3.
This reorganization is part of Kasai's broader efforts to optimize its operational structure and improve production efficiency at its Mexican subsidiary.
Regarding its financial results, Kasai expects the restructuring to have a minimal impact. The company indicated that it will provide updates on the process as necessary.
Following this decision, the Japanese group will consolidate its manufacturing operations in León, maintaining two plants and integrating the production activities currently distributed across its three facilities.
