Cummins announced that it has allocated US$ 7 million to improve the infrastructure of its manufacturing and development complex in San Luis Potosí.

The Ohio-based manufacturer of engines, filtration and power generation products, said that this investment was focused not on expanding its production capacity, but on improving the conditions of around 4,000 employees that the company has in that location.

The improvements involved a 4,000 sq.-mt. expansion for training centers and areas that encourage communal living among employees.

Among the amenities is a dining room with capacity for 420 people, a training center with seven rooms for a capacity of 45 people each, which are equipped with projectors.

It also has a terrace suitable for social events and a collaborative area with eight work stations, boardrooms, focus rooms and medical service.

The Cummins Campus of San Luis Potosí has corporate offices and a research and development center, as well as a logistics center, which serves different divisions of the company, such as Motors, Generators, Components and Electrification.

In a statement, Cummins CEO Tom Linebarger reiterated the commitment they have with Mexico to continue providing better energy solutions to meet the needs of its customers. He also pointed out that offering more modern facilities to their workers will allow them to operate in a more efficient and inclusive environment.

It is worth noting that, at the end of 2018, the Vice President of Cummins in Mexico and Latin America, Ignacio García Albarrán, announced that the company is working on the improvement and growth of its facilities in order to develop new production lines. For this reason, it was considered important to first provide proper training to its collaborators.
