SAN JOSE — Aeroméxico carried out for the first time a cargo service to San José, Costa Rica, for the transfer of medical equipment to help the Costa Rican health authorities combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
"After 10 years of operating in the Central American country, it is the first time that Aeroméxico has carried out a cargo flight, with the aim of facilitating and guaranteeing the supply of necessary supplies for the population of Costa Rica," said the airline in a statement.
In the midst of the health crisis, the Aeromexico has used its fleet on special repatriation or cargo flights, after the demand for passengers decreased and it suspended services due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is worth remebering that the Mexican airline will only offer between 30% and 50% of its originally planned capacity for the transfer of passengers during the third quarter of the year.
