CIC integrates binational services

The growth in trade between the United States and Mexico has increased operational pressure on the manufacturing and maquiladora industries, which face constant changes in customs regulations, stricter traceability requirements, and more rigorous scrutiny by authorities.
Against this backdrop, CIC Competitive Industrial Center, Comprehensive Customs Services, began operations with Flor Torres Alvarez as executive director, aiming to address the fragmentation prevalent in foreign trade management, where companies relied on multiple providers to handle key processes—a situation that led to inefficiencies, higher costs, and exposure to compliance risks.
The increase in fines and audits has led foreign trade departments to assume a more strategic role within organizations. Proper documentation, operational traceability, and alignment with regulatory frameworks have become indispensable elements for maintaining operational continuity.
Binational operations facilitate the synchronization of processes on both sides of the border, which translates into a lower margin of error and shorter response times; regulatory compliance ceases to be an operational requirement and becomes a factor that directly impacts companies’ competitiveness.
The ability to integrate processes, reduce risks, and maintain traceability throughout the entire supply chain defines the viability of operations in international trade.
