Halcón 2, a 100% Mexican aircraft, takes off
MEXICO - History has been made in Mexican aviation, as the Halcón 2, the 100% Mexican airplane, flew through the skies. "A dream come true," said Giovanni Angelucci Carrasco, CEO of Horizontec.
In the presence of authorities from the Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC), the Ministries of National Defense and the Navy, as well as former Mexican Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard Casaubón, the Halcón 2 made its experimental flight.
The event was held at the Jorge Jiménez Cantú National Airport, better known as Atizapán airport, where dozens of guests gathered to watch the flight of this aircraft, whose conception dates back to 2007.
In an interview with A21, the CEO of Horizontec, the company that developed and built the Halcón 2, said that with this aircraft the dream is for Mexico to join the aircraft manufacturing industry.
"This is a very important achievement since a technological product was created in Mexico using tools of the future, especially from simulation and with materials from the aerospace era," said Angelucci Carrasco.
