LIXIL Group, a Japanese manufacturer of building materials and housing equipment, recently inaugurated a 13,000 square meters expansion at its production facility in Aguascalientes, central Mexico, where US$20.5 million were invested for that end, company officials revealed at the ceremony.

This plant, which is part of the Water Technology division of LIXIL, manufactures toilets, sinks, urinals, bathroom and kitchen faucets, as well as showers and accessories, both for residential and commercial customers.Ā

These products are sold across the NAFTA region under the American Standard brand, which was acquired by LIXIL in 2013.

The company added 400 job positions to start the production lines, increasing the output capacity from 2.3 million pieces per year to 3.4 million.

Eduardo Arias Juarez, plant general manager, said that this expansion ā€œgives us the opportunity to make the Mexican facility the best of LIXIL in the world, in terms of volumeā€.

LIXIL Water Technology division operates four manufacturing plants in Mexico. The rest of them are located in State of Mexico, Tlaxcala and Nuevo Leon.
